Traffic Safety Can’t Wait
The town of Signal Mountain, TN, like other communities around the country, is concerned about traffic safety around their school campuses. The town council recognizes that a well-planned comprehensive approach will best address their traffic calming needs. This could involve securing a traffic engineering study, which could cost from $5,000 to $30,000, and/or hiring a consultant to determine the resident interest on the issue. These reports will take time.
Meanwhile, two of the four speed bumps that were just installed on streets leading to the schools were obliterated by snowplows.
City officials recognize that they need to address their speeding issues now. Driver feedback signs could be the solution many towns are looking for. These devices are installed quickly, are immediately effective and are well received by the community. Additionally, Radarsign feedback signs are durable, weather-tight and proven to stand up through some of the worst winter weather conditions. Not a single Radarsign device has ever fallen victim to a snowplow!
