We were looking for a non-enforcement way to make drivers more aware of their actual speeds, and wanted the capability to do reports as well. It turns out we can still do traffic counts and handle speed issues as well. We’re really pleased with the TC-400 signs.
I looked around at various manufacturers. The Radarsign brand looked easy to install and change batteries, and especially secure, which was a feature I wanted.
The signs are working great and are really a big help. Drivers see the blue light and slow down automatically. It’s a good deterrent. One particular area had had several accidents. Since we installed the signs, the accidents have stopped. Bottom line: it’s working and makes it safe for everybody.
We use the sign to calm citizens’ concerns about speeding in their neighborhoods. Those who have a problem, we put it in their yard and share the results with them. We also post it on Facebook so the community knows what is going on.
Often people standing in their yard watching cars pass think that the cars are going much faster than they are. This shows residents the true speed.
They actually work better than what we were expecting. No one in our department had prior use or knowledge, so we’ve been pleased. If we need another driver speed sign, we’ll get it from Radarsign.
We have about 6 Radarsign units—a mixture of older and newer models—deployed currently. I’m not a fan of some brands of driver speed signs, but Radarsign’s sealed units keep failures due to environmental factors to a minimum.

Citizens like them. They tell us that when the see their speed flash on the sign, they are more aware that they are speeding and often didn’t realize they are driving too fast.

When we talked to the DOT, they recommended Radarsign because the driver signs were working well in another town…Ordering was easy, and our signs shipped faster than we were originally quoted, which is always a plus. The DOT already had experience installing Radarsign brand signs, so that process was easy as well.
These signs are totally awesome. We have part time police officers who patrol our roadways, and they tell me the number of tickets has gone down. Everything was great. If we were in the market in the future for additional signs, I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase from Radarsign again.
We have used two brands of driver speed signs but feel Radarsign speed signs are easier to install and set up than the competitor speed signs.
