On a 35 mile per hour roadway, where the average speed was almost 39 mph, the signs brought that down to 35.5. Peak speeds there were at 44 mph and came down to 41. What we learned is that the average, more responsible driver is much more in tune with the sign than the 85 percentile drivers who tend to ignore it no matter what.
The devices themselves have functioned very well. We can have harsh winters and it gets really hot in the summers, and they’ve held up extremely well. Our TC-600S signs have been reliable in every way, and Radarsign’s customer service, sales and tech support have been terrific.
We bought one TC-400 to see what it could do, especially compared to our old, bulky trailer, which is large, expensive, and relatively portable. The city council liked it so much, we bought two more.
The TC-400 signs are a great asset for us. They’re pretty simple to use; our community service officers download the data and it goes smoothly. The battery life is really good. We haven’t had any issues whatsoever. They are an important part of our traffic safety program. Since we can pinpoint the times motorists are more likely to speed, it makes our patrols more effective.
We put out one sign and received a tremendous volume of requests from other residents who want signs too, and bought another. I can’t say enough good things about these signs.
We had speed trailers, but they are a pain to set up and take down. The TC-400s are smaller and do the same thing, but they are easier to set up. We use the dual battery system and swap them out every 5-7 days.
It’s reasonably priced. The set up and instructions were good. It’s impressive and stays on all the time. Our Model TC-600S is a pretty rugged item that can handle the elements.
Our community really liked the idea of radar signs; we also knew that the average traffic speeds were 37-45 miles per hour, which is well above the posted limits…The Radarsign brand signs have worked well. They’re a good reminder that school’s in, kids are crossing and there’s just too much traffic for you to be driving faster than the limit.
We like the signs, and being able to access them remotely through the cloud without leaving the office. We also like the support we’ve received from Radarsign. We just like the product and will continue to grow our Radarsign network of traffic safety signs.
We share our Streetsmart reports with the police department, and if we see speed abused above the 85th percentile, it can trigger enforcement or patrols. The data is also readily available to the neighborhoods; if they request it, we can provide it at any time.
There is a school zone as you drive into Vidalia. As cars come in drivers see the sign and they slow down. And, because we don’t have to keep an officer posted there all the time now, the signs solve a manpower issue, which also helps with budgeting–an important factor in this economy.

We’ve had fewer complaints in the areas where we post the signs. We have 6 brackets for our three signs and move them around the four wards of the city, particularly school zones, and our parks and recreation areas.

We purchased the 4 signs to be used on a long street that connects the residential area leading into and out of the school university. We noticed lots of speeding on this long stretch of road so they have placed 2 signs east bound 2 signs west bound.
