Radarsign in the News: Georgia Community Speeds up the Process to Slow Down Drivers
The Willow Springs neighborhood of Roswell, Georgia has taken traffic-calming measures into its own hands, with the full support of city officials. Two vehicle-pedestrian accidents were two too many. Hasty drivers frequently cut through this residential neighborhood, usually during the hours when children are waiting for the bus. That’s when community leaders turned to Radarsign for help.
As part of their traffic safety plan, the homeowners association (HOA) purchased solar-powered driver feedback signs. Radar speed signs are scientifically proven to reduce speeding and have become part of a national trend when residents take action to stop speeding drivers.
Because Willow Springs’ signs are installed in the public right-of-way, the HOA needed city approval. The City of Roswell supported the efforts of Willow Springs and is now working to make it easier for other neighborhoods to follow suit
